How to Improve Speed and Accuracy in Railway Exams

In a Railway computer-based test the paper is rarely too difficult; it is too long. Speed and accuracy are trainable skills, and both improve through structured drills rather than more reading.
Train calculation separately from practice tests
Ten minutes a day of tables, squares, cubes, percentages and fraction conversions removes a surprising amount of time from the maths section.
Do these drills on paper with a timer. The aim is automatic recall, not understanding.
Learn question selection
In the first pass, attempt only what you can solve confidently within a minute. Mark the rest for review and come back with whatever time remains.
This one habit usually adds more marks than any shortcut technique, because it protects you from spending half the paper on five questions.
Respect negative marking
Guessing between two options can be worth it; guessing among four usually is not. Decide your personal rule before the exam and follow it.
Track in each mock test how many marks your guesses gained or lost. The data will settle the argument for you.
